There's a chap selling a P38 over on the S2forum. It's a 98 on an R reg with the 4.6hse engine but it's developed an overheating problem. He's put it up for £1250 but I reckon it can be bought for £1000.

Possibly a bargain for someone on here? Not sure how highly regarded these cars are though.

James, how bad are the P38's ? I might be looking at a '96 RR 4.6 with LPG & a '93 Disco 300 3.9 with LPG tomorow.
The RR because I like the toys/luxury on them

They are a nightmare heating system goes wrong(blend motors)engine blocks go porus, air suspenstion packs up etc, avoid like the plauge.By a Disco instead, all you have to worry about is rust and leaking sunroofs!

I can't help feeling you'd end up having lots of conversations that started "when this was new, it did xxx......" hehe

Our P38 has been ok. Bought in Dec with 172k on the clock. First thing we did was change battery, engine oil/filter, ATF. Expansion tank hose popped off but now sorted and did a DIY flush and coolant change. New tyres in place of the remoulds and all is good so far smile
