Well ater spending most of Saturday cleaning out car some uber (sorry mods if you feel this is the wrong word) has run a key all along the passenger side in a cicular cloud like patern. To say that we are a little pissed (sorry) is an understatment as we have only had it a week. After speaking to various people about CCTV I am told that I should of expected it, and that people are jelous of what others have. I have always been the sort of chap to look on the good in everyone but I can't fathom the mentality of what person gets a kick out of keying a car to the point that it needs a respray. is the world really this wrong that people can be this jealous or petty over a car.

Rant over see you tomorrow night at the ace.

I know it beggars belief that there's scum like that out there, but that really is the unfortunate truth. Really sorry to hear this has happened though and hope the tt that did it is brought to justice!

Sorry to hear that, especially as it is still your new baby. I hope you still bring it tomorrow night, as I'd like to see the car.

I believe in Karma, and bad things eventually happen to bad/ stupid people, and good things will happen to those who have been affected by them.
Next time the wker chav is destroying something... we all hope it's like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xb-jNmb4_4

And THAT is why I don't wash cars. You look like you love it (you don't wash something you don't like) and people are sts so will do something to annoy you whether it's key it or stick a brick through the window.

Well chaps now I am sober now comes the fun part of getting it fixed £ I almost cried when the chap at bodytechnics told me £2500 give or take a few quid.
Now off to find another more sensible priced company. See you guys tonight.

I strongly suggest looking elsewhere, they failed to paint our old TT properly after several attempts. Specialist Paintwork, Reading, near J12 M4 behind Porsche UK are very very good.

Jesus Phil, i'm sorry to hear this. It's all too prevalent nowadays unfortunately and in my mind, the result of a generation who've grown up seeing very little punishment for acts like this. There will always be good and bad eggs but recently, it feels like an easier choice to be 'bad' for those caught in the middle. Little or no respect in the majority of kids.

CCTV, etc are all good ideas but shouldn't we be able to rely more upon our country instilling a sense of respect instead?!?

Bring back the birch and pass me my paddle.

Here's hoping you find a reasonable quote for the remedial. And I hate to say it but be careful when this is finished (although I have no idea what that means i'm afraid), because as sad as this sounds i've heard of people who've had this done before and then resprayed the car only to have it happen again very soon after the car is back looking tip top. Not meaning to scare monger but garaging, CCTV might all help deter.
I'm sure it must be very funny to the scum doing it but with the level of attention the general public receive from the police when things like this happen, better to plan to avoid it yourself than rely on the police to help after the fact.

Any kids local who you know to be a PITA? I don't know where you live but usually, this kind of thing isn't a passer by if you're on a housing estate, etc.

Nightmare and something we all dread. People who do this just don't think like you or I. It is the same mentality of people who burgle a house or rob someone. There is no point trying to understand them. All you can know is that you have a car that they'll never even dream of sitting in, let along driving in their miserable little lives. Ultimately they'll always be at the bottom of life.

Just rememebered, many moons ago, about my Mum's friend. Her husband died sudenly in the Army and it was a huge shock. The Army gave her a big payout (death in service etc. iirc) and some time later she treated herself to a new Escort Cab (when they were a nice car!) to cheer herself up. Just days later someone opened the gate to her garden, walked up and keyed the entire car!

Really feel for you! scum!

We have been pretty lucky apart from about 10 years ago; I parked my Porsche (a 924 FFS so worth next to nothing but was my pride and joy) across the road from some tree huggers who were protesting about something or other in central Oxford. They shouted a bit of abuse at me and were quite intimidating as I went into a bar. I came out an hour later luckily with a friend for support. They had scratched every panel of the car and just as we walked up to it one of the guys was trying to smash the back window in!!!! They shouted some elitist rubbish at me but the irony was I was working two jobs to keep that car on the road............ and they were prob poncy students furious

I would be doing time if had caught them doing that to my car.
The wrong end of a tyre iron would have been giving him a nice bit of dental surgery...

I'm a woman and my companion too and to be honest I didn't really believe it was happening or see the extent of the damage.......... they prob wouldn't have been quite so "brave" if it wasn't dark and just us and them, by their numbers alone we were intimidated, got out of there as quick as possible. eek
