Probably right on the edge of most of the Thames Valley community to be honest however I was there yesterday coincidentally as friends live in Shefford Woodlands. They seem to like it there as they think it has a good community spirit although I find a lot of them to be stuck up their own arses. If you are in the horsey set then you'll fit right in although I find it a little bit quiet for my liking. Having said that, there's probably a massive swinging community there!
On the plus side, there are some fantastic roads in the vicinity but if you are looking to commute by car into London, that extra 20 miles of M4 can be tortuous in rush hour.

I used to work in the area, there were regular tales concerning groups of rival stable lads getting excitable after a few beers of a Saturday night, whether this is still the case or not I dont know. Nice part of the world though.

Used to live in Wantage, my thoughts:-

Very horsey!!
Pubs can be a little bit lively at weekends
Cracking roads, hooning spoilt by excessive horses, so you have to time it well
Very horsey!!
Good road links in all directions M4 and A34
You'll need to travel a fair way to get to some decent shops - Newbury, Reading, Oxford, Swindon (ok maybe not the latter)
Very horsey!!

Once drove through an impressively statuesque mountain of horse manure in my low old TVR S. Wasnt pretty.
Don't mind the horse crowd as long as they the acknowledge existence of cars whilst out & about. Those that don't ... grrrr...

That's spot on what I heard. Already living in a 'quiet house' down a 'quiet' no-through road, don't want to move to another one !
