Windscreen chip repair nr Guildford - how much??

OH has suffered a chip to her windscreen (fits within a £1 coin, not in the drivers visibility area, car's a Yaris). Ringing round for quotes to get fixed- all in the £70-£100 mark - wtf?- seem to remember getting chips fixed for £30 a few years back-

Not going through insurance as policy has a silly excess on glass repair

With this in mind, anyone have any recommendations in the Guildford area?- at this rate I may just buy a kit and do it myself!

Is she fully comp? If so you get it fixed for free by a mobile guy. If not try national windscreens (one in Aldershot). A new screen for my E36 beemer was only £130 fitted.

Yes- but there's a £70 excess on repairs (!!) -

It may really cost you nothing - the insurance companies pick up the bill because it's loads cheaper than having to fork out for a new screen - something they may well have to do if you don't get it repaired. I have the same excess, and had mine done for nothing last year (Admiral)

You may find the excess with your insurers is less for repairs than a replacement, worth checking if you haven't already..
