Exhaust Fabricators
Discussion
Hi all,
Cat is after having the exhaust on her GTV changed but the off-the-shelf performance exhausts are stupidly priced so I figured that finding a decent exhaust fabricator will be cheaper and will give her exactly what she wants.
This is where I need your help!
I need to find someone who knows what they're doing and won't charge the earth for carrying out the work. I've been in contact with Simpsons Race Exhausts and Zero Exhausts but sadly I don't know much about them or their workmanship. Has anyone dealt with these guys before?
I want to steer clear of powerflow/longlife/scorpion or any other chain as I'd rather find a decent independant.

Torqueflow have just done mine, but you have to get it to Birmingham
Quite an interesting site that. How does the 540 sound?
I don't have speakers on the PC in the office so I'll have a better look at their website when I get home.
P.S. Wanna go to Booker?

I'd love to go to Booker, but I'm out with Cat that day

Fecker!
So, £500 for a full system? Did they remove the CATs?

Well mainly because a friend of mine had a powerflow exhaust put on his car and had quite a few problems with it which resulted in him going back and forth to the garage that fitted the exhaust for him. I also know of two people over on the S2 forum who have had problems with their powerflow exhaust.
Obviously mistakes happen but I can't help but feel that you should get a better service from an independant.
For what it's worth, I have a Scorpion Exhaust fitted to my car and it sounds pretty good and has never caused me any issues but I like dealing with independant companies.

I think all the powerflow places are independent franchises. I agree it's down to the actual shop or person though.Obviously mistakes happen but I can't help but feel that you should get a better service from an independant.

I would be interested in pricing on a straight through centre silencer replacement pipe for my 135i. I really want the BMW item but its 600 notes and I reckon a lot of the gain will come from the centre section replacement. I also really like the look of the current standard rear box so this might be a good option.

Try Torqueflow in Birmingham, they do a lot of BMWs. Lots of stuff on Youtube of cars they've done. Good bunch of guys too, and while you are waiting you can look around the owners B10 Bi-turbo E34

Depends how cheap and how straight thru. You could simply buy a length of mild, aluminiumised or stainless steel tubing that's been flared and some clamps.Failing that "bullet" style silencers can be had from £80-120, even good quality ones.

I will probably just bite the bullet soon and order the full system through Redish Motorsport but its a few month until the tunnels of Rouen yet

@BMW2002, thanks for the heads up. I do love a well kept Bi Turbo too, what an Iconic car that is.
