Not long moved to Frimley Green. Can anyone recommend any half decent restaurants for a nice evening meal in the environs? It doesn't have to be specifically in these towns but just the general area.

If you fancy an Indian, then Manzils on Frimley Road is very good. They are very popular, so either get there early, or pre-book.
Heron on the lake is quite good, especially when the weather is good

Gurkha Palace on the Farnborough road, opposite the airport is an excellent Nepalese restaurant- great curry. Booking is advisable.

Yep, the Italian in Frimley (can't remember the name) is lovely! Always busy and always excellent. The chip shop there is superb too, far better than any others (can't remember the name of that either banghead) EDIT: Kims Place. yum

Drive up the A30, through Bagshot, out the other side, past Longacres garden centre on the left and there's the Windmill, posh pub but rammed all the time because its so good.

Food at the Rose and Thistle on adjacent to Frimley Green seems pretty good for pub grub. You can get a decent pint there aswell.

Only ever been there during the day though.

Equally, for a decent pint, you can'r beat the Prince of Wales over by Farnborough North Station.

Villa Bianca, and it's a firm favourite of mine too!

Another vote for Villa Bianca.

If the budget isn't a problem, then the Cloche Hat at Chobham is excellent.

Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't moved far from Westfield, Woking but was in Knaphill before that. So, I know the Chobham area. I'm behind the green off Bedford lane in the little unadopted/private road. I've been to Heron on the Lake a few times before (used to work in Fleet) but so far my local eatery experience has been the fish and chip shop on the green, Pizza Hut, FKC kebab shop and Cinammon the Indian for take away!

Try the Shoulder of Mutton out towards Hartley Wintney if you don't mind travelling a little. We stopped off there on the way to my OH's parent's house a while ago thinking it was a cheap pub...excellent gastro pub instead!

Just had a look at this: http://www.shoulderofmutton-hants.com/intro.html

Get your directions from Google or A.N.OtherMaps.com as their map is terrible! smile

Come into Bagshot, and visit Hardy's.

It's tex-Mex and very nice, will warn you food can take time to come out but it's worth it. Also they do a nice frozen margherita.

Thanks for the recommendations. Will try them out soon enough!

Frimley - got your email thank you!

Exquisite - I drive past your cars pretty much every day, why all Saxos though?

I used to go to the Queen's Head in Dogmerfield a few years (10!) ago and that was always good pub grub. For what it's worth The Quays looks like it's been revamped and the menu is much tastier. Only been in the day time though!

Curry - The Ancient Raj in Frimley
Italian - Mamma Mia in Hartley Wintney is amazing (or Alfresco's in Fleet)
Pub - The Foresters in Fleet, you MUST try the Kobe burger!

I spend a lot of time in the pubs around Fleet where I live, and the Oatsheaf is a good shout too.

As mentioned already, I can vouch for Hardys in Bagshot, the Windmill in Windlesham is superb, I also love WE! The Resteraunt in Fleet, they do a great mix of food and all of it good.

Spoilt for choice really in our area!

Might be an idea to start a thread for those to avoid too biggrin
