Hi everyone, I have posted this in the alfa section as well, but thought for maximum exposure i would post it in my local forum too biggrin. Title says it all really, I am now the proud owner of an Alfa 156 2.0TS veloce (picking it up thursday) so does anyone know of a good independent specialist in and around the area (I live in Haslemere if that helps)

Thanks everyone!

James

Live in Haslemere as well, and have been wanting a 156 jtd for some time now... the nearest place I could come up with is in Guildford - Bishops, which is a main dealer on Slyfield ind. estate. Although independant wise there is a place in Ascot 'Royal ascot garage' (I think), they are mainly a dealer but I'm sure they must do some sort of servicing. I have to say we are some what lacking on the car dealership front over this way! If you find any where closer plase let me know and I'll go and have a butchers! smile

Dealer only, but in my personal opinion, and with my personal experience, I'd look elsewhere.

I'd suggest the following (in order of personal preference):
http://www.ahmotorsports.co.uk/
http://www.alfanatic.co.uk/
http://www.alfaworkshop.co.uk/

I'd also consider SGT - the MD in Taplow. Yeah, I know they're an MD - but I've also found their service to be impeccable smile

Lol, I tried getting a test drive out of I think the owner in a 2005 GT a few weeks back - he didnt seem too keen. Then when I looked at a Saab he had around the back it would'nt come out of gear - at this point I swiftly moved on! From previous I've had nothing but bad experiences from small independant garages - nothing against them, Im all up for the underdog etc etc, it just seems they can some times cut corners??

James - I've just posted in the Alfa section, but in addition to the recommendations above and assuming you are OK to travel up to Maidenhead I would recommend AlfaAid - 01628 788887.

Hear-hear, I have used them a couple of times in the past for my Fiat Barchetta, good bunch of guy's - not the cheapest but they know their onions!

The other people I have used (general Italian stuff but Fiat and Alfa are their bread and butter) is DTR. Again, not the cheapest but very good.

Spooky - I used Alfaaid for most stuff my old Alfa 156 and would heartily recommend them, also funnily enough used DTR (used them for cambelts as they came in a lot cheaper than Alfaaid), again no probs and would recommend.

Thankyou to everyone who has posted, i will look into all of these, some are probably a little far, i.e over an hour away and in the wrong direction for my work, but Fleet is pretty close, and some others only a little further. This is why i love pistonheads, a great source of usefull info and helpfull people biggrin Thanks everyone

Alfanatics are the right side of Fleet from you and are very good.
For me AHM have the edge and are only just outside Fleet (and will be stinging me for a V6 cambelt change tomorrow!).

Both are enthusiasts though so both better than main dealer.
