Since the successful installation of the alu' strut brace I now want to move the battery to the boot, it just seems to make sense as it's a huge heavy battery in a light car. Does anyone know where you can buy the substantial cable needed?

Maplin would be my first call, or possibly screwfix direct.

The cheapest way of getting cable is to buy Harfruds Jump leads the heavy duty ones and remove the clamps if you go for cable it will cost a fortune trust me i have moved 3 to the boot ( 2 Tivs and a Mgbgt)

Call SED at Guildford ask for Keith 01483 538038
He will sell you the correct type and grade of cable for the required loadings, sleeving, terminations and heat shrink if needed.
Always protect extended battery cable with the plastic ribbed sleeving.
Gives good protection from damage, you dont want a short on that line direct from battery.

I have used them a lot for auto electric parts.
Stocks all sorts of things, switches, relays ets.
