I hope that the owner of the red Ferrari 360 CS uses this forum and sees this thread as I would like to congratulate him on having such a loud car only matched no doubt by the loudness of his shirt collection that have a mandatory top 5 buttons undone to reveal his hairy chest. Perhaps unsurprisingly the individual was alone (sorry chaps but most Ferrari drivers seem to be)and demonstrating his extremely loud car to the whole of Windsor this afternoon whilst travelling very fast in straight line. Obviously there must be a massive fault with the car that would explain the need to slow to an almost standstill at the mearest sign of a corner.
Whilst watching this demonstration of penile inadequacy I realised how we would treat Trev, Kev or Nev and his mates if they drove their Saxo,Corsa or Clio in the same way.
This isn't a dig against supercar drivers or noisy cars-I have one of the former and the latter are fine as long as there is quality to match the volume but it is a moan against bad taste middle aged letharios who always seem to drive the red Italian cars so badly and give the brand it's bad image.
To finish my rant I would just like to thank the gentleman in question for pointing out that I practice oneism and wish him the best of luck with his hair regrowth programme.

I thought this was a forum for car lovers... WTF has that rant got to do with anything even partially relevant?

He had a ferrari.... short of that, I'm at a loss.

I think I have created the wrong first impression with my posting earlier. I am as far removed from being anti-car as is possible but whilst I love lstening to the almost any car from the purple diablo seen in Windsor yesterday to the lumpy cammed 'A' series a neighbour has in his Mini.

Primarily I was letting off steam over a prat in a Ferrari-much like Alonso but without any talent whatsoever.

As for my not listing my cars I didn't consciously decide not to list them I just wasn't sure what it added. Surely if I list my cars I'll look more of a show-off than my Mr Toad today?

And thankyou for the spelling corrections. As a motoring journalist once said 'congratulations to pendant of the month!'

I agree with the OP, I cringe when people cruise through towns revving and blipping the throttle just to make people look at them. Ferrari, Nova, whatever. All it does is breed contempt for the "motoring community". Like, cruising in Windsor? Dodge the tourist on your way to the car park? Take the 360CS and use it for what it was designed for.

It's been a nice sunny day. Plenty of small boys would have appreciated the sight/sound of a noisy red Ferrari.

The OP's post smacks of sour grapes.

I think most middle age men who want to impress wouldn't bother with a CS, they'd just get a Spider.

Anyhow, my mate and I (MJPMark) had no such troubles with corners in the Ultima today, great fun was had by all including the cheering Chavs in the McDonalds Carpark we hammered past (twice, for effect)...

I love to hear a great car with a loud pipe going through the revs, even if it is in first gear through a town centre. It's quite possible to make a wonderful noise without endangering any pedestrians. I am always grateful to the drivers who are willing to ignore the sneers of jealous numpties who think "what a prat", and give us petrolheads something nice to listen to.
