Living in Surrey
Discussion
The Belvedere is a favourite with a few of us, can be very busy during the summer months but worth visiting just for the 'scenery'
whereas the Rose & Crown (I assume you mean the one in Thorpe) can be a little less Ascot and more like Staines.
I've lived in the Ascot/Sunningdale/Windsor area for 30 odd years now so if you need any pointers for VW drop me a PM.

I've lived in bagshot for almost 9 years. This part of Surrey is one of my favs. Now live in redhill. It's expensive in that area. Your on the surrey berkshire border. Lots of big houses, nice cars, ladies who lunch that sort of thing. Not that it's a bad thing. Great pubs, restaraunts, parks and gardens etc...

Does anyone here live in Surrey, more specifically around Chertsey, Weybridge, Virginia Water? I'm possibly looking to move down that way and had a drive through the area and quite liked the areas stated. Looking to get a 2 bedroom place to rent. Has anyone got any experience of these areas and can give any advice about the area or anywhere else nice nearby to live.?
I need to be near a mainline train/tube station for access to London ie within 10 mins drive or cycle
I am in Weybrige. Plenty of places to rent near the station.I need to be near a mainline train/tube station for access to London ie within 10 mins drive or cycle
Addlestone isn;t great compared to weybridge, but there again not much is really.
It is where the massive tescos is, and there are large ex council and council house estates there, so it is considered rough ( but rough by surrey standards not london standards )
If I was moving round there ( and i was thinking of doing so recently ) I would have probably moved there to be honest, with the money I could afford, it would be the only place I could afford and it is nest to my beloved weybridge.
Weybridge is split really into two sections, the high st and the station, there are loads of places right by the station and the rent is supprisingly cheap.
I always thought it wierd that he station is so far away from the main part of the village, somethign worth considering if you commute and want to walk to the station.

I'd recommend Walton-On-Thames station over Weybridge if you are commuting as its one stop closer and in the day gets a few semi direct trains (they used to run them at peak too but ditched that the b
ds). Hersham and Walton-On-Thames both close to WoT station. Hersham station again one further up but it misses out on the direct trains I mention as it skips past.
