Where to find an electrcian who will work on circuit boards

Sounds like you need an electronics technician or engineer rather than an electrician. Surely there's someone at your college that can help?

Failing that, are there still TV repair shops around? These guys would have a scope and some test equipment and could possibly troublshoot this for you.

We use a guy in sth wales called Dave of Mr Electronics, he is excellent at PCB technology and cheap.

Try him he will help out if he can,tell him Dave and Hannah from X L Lifts recommended you, he is on google search.

Why don't you post on the picaxe forum? There are some real boffins on there and they have helped me many times.
