minibus needed
Discussion
Me again, asking for more help!!!

We've been let down (again) by our minibus supplier!
We need a 17 seater to get us to Scotland and back again for our 3 peaks challenge.
Leaving 31st May returning 4th June. We have 3 drivers and 9 walkers plus luggage!
Can anyone help? Recommend somewhere?
PLEEEAAAASE!!!!
Thank you

I've hired lots of stuff from here before: http://www.btcvehiclerentals.co.uk/commercial.htm
They quote around £170 for a weekend's hire of a 17 seater but you may be able to appeal to their charitable nature to get some amount of discount...

We used these for a stag do, cheapest we could find and good condition new busses.

Worth a try.
EDIT - damn just checked , they only do 12 and 15 seaters. Might still be worth a ring to see if they can recommend anyone.
Also check your drivers are allowed , the rules changed in 97'

Thanks for this, Ive had a quick look... the 15 seater bit wouldnt be a problem as there are 12 of us plus luggage, but they only give us 100 free miles per day= 400miles free, then its 10p per mile... we're doing around 1300miles!!! Thats a lot of extra money!! http://www.kendallcars.com/

And thanks to the offers of drivers... Im currently looking to see whats gonna be cheaper for hire and petrol etc. 2 cars, (plus 2 lots of parking fees at each mountain) or 1 minibus!

Thats where my girlie brain fails me... never was good on the old miles per gallon bit!!

1 minibus should work out cheaper even if you pay the £90 extra for the mileage.
Not sure how much a 15 seater full of people and gear will do to the gallon though but i'd guess it'll struggle to get much above 20mg.
I figure it'll cost you around £300-£350 in diesel for the whole trip too. That's £390 - £440 before you even cost in the van rental!!

Thanks for all that!I now realise I was having a blonde moment over the 10p per mile bit!!

The last company we tried quoted us £1 per mile extra over 1000miles!! which is a lot more than Kendalls.
Right so still on the hunt for a minibus with 4 weeks notice to pick up on a bank holiday monday!!!

Wish me luck!!
We use MVF for hockey matches/the uni uses them for all sports teams http://www.minibushirereading.co.uk/ pretty good
