Hi guys, looking at the AA warranty for the new motor and wondering if anyone has any experiences of it? Thanks

Pics of the new motor will be coming soon!

I have it for the cerb. Can't say if it's any good as I've not needed it yet but a few cerb owners think it's worth the money.

Yes definitely, have paid all of my recent breakdown repairs thumbup

Well worth the small outlay each month, although bear in mind they only pay if you actually break down. Home start is worth getting too. Give me a bell if you want the details Rich.

About to test it out as it happens. Alternator went on the Elise weekend before last. Recovered at roadside back to my house (happened early Sat evening, so too late to go straight to garage).

They were doing ok up to this point.

I arranged for the car to be collected between 9 and 11am today with my parents around to handover keys. Chased them up on phone. Promised they would make it by 3pm. Turned up at 4:30pm. Had to be at the garage in Maidenhead by 5pm latest.

fkwits banghead

Try again tomorrow!

Have it and have used it on the Cerb. They have refused to payout on a failed balljoint as classed it as wear and tear or somesuch nonsence, also refused a slave cylinder payout as clutch was worn, despite the fact that it being worn had no real bearing on the breakdown, that was due to all the fluid pissing out under the car leaving me with no pedal. However have now had successful claims and am up on the deal. For the small amount of money it is it's deffo worth it albeit ties you into the AA as a breakdown service which is a bit more money than can be had elsewhere.

Have got that policy with the AA, used twice with no complaint, once for the Steering Rack and once for a new Clutch. £475 off each bill which helps for a small outlay each year on top of my AA membership.

How exactly did they know the clutch itself was worn?

Garage has to ring them before work commences (or once diagnosed etc), came up in during their chat frown

Well yes I did think that for a bit I must say, however he did explain he does a lot of work under this scheme (TVR indie ;-)) and can't really take the piss in case they decide to come check up or something.

I have it on both TVRs and the 750. I can have up to 5 claims per year across all three cars. No proof of service history was requested. As an "insurance" against broken bits, its quite reasonable imo

For the new engine I needed to send in the last service invoice. For all the other claims, nothing.

Fair enough. I bet he does quite well out of the scheme wink

Have a feeling my garage is going to as well at this rate!
