Night out suggestions.....
Discussion
Right then, i am running short of ideas of what to do for my anviversary with my other half. Babysitter all sorted but no where to go!
There is nothing on at the theatre. Or anything else interest in July that either of us want to do.
We are willing to travel around the area to have a night out. Can go 30 miles or so from woking. So Reading/Kingston/Guildford would all be in for a shout.
Was thinking is there a any river boats with onboard restaurants? so can do a evening cruise and meal up and down the Thames.
any ideas welcome

There must be something in the City you'd like to go and see?
Or go in the evening for a ride on this;

And then a nice restaurant up there?
ETA: I was busy finding the link to the RIB boat thing and didn't notice you said no to London

Not sure of your budget but how about a balloon flight?

They fly out of Henley (weather permitting) and the views and whole experience is fantastic.
Once you've returned to Henley, have a meal in one of my favourite restaurants

these guys go past my house quite often with people having dinners/drinks/parties on..
Otherwise maybe hire your own boat and take a champagne picnic?

Not Surrey but Stanlake Vineyard is in Twyford, Berks. Not sure if they have tasting sessions every evening but you could always give them a call.

If you wanted somewhere near by for food, Burattas is always very good and very reasonably priced.

Some fairly good wines there - the sparkling is surprisingly good. http://www.stanlakepark.com/
They have a nice garden too and you can join for free to attend the tasting evenings when they're offered.

Thanks for the suggestions, it looks like we will be going a balloon flight over guildford..

Glad you're sorted but a word to the wise... have a back-up plan as the flights are subject to weather conditions and frequently get postponed.Steve
The first time I went up in a hot air balloon we ended up making a crash landing in between power cables and houses somewhere Florida.
Oddly enough that was my last time too!
Anyway, I'm sure you'll have a blast. Our health and safety is a little tighter than the Americans so you probably won't end up with a clueless and very under experienced South African pilot.
