Dilema Getting to a BBQ in Ascot from.......

Friends, I know a few of us are part of the Grand touring, hypermile club so I need some ideas...

I have to be at a meeting in Lahr, Germany until 2PM CET on Sat 24th

The fun starts in Ascot, UK at circa 2pm GMT

I can fly and make it by 7pm
I can Drive and Google reckons on 10pm

Route

Now knowing how I allways obey the laws relating to Speed etc could I take allot of time off the driving option?

Driving does mean German beer and Sausage can be brought back....

This should be an achieveable fun run...

Whats the concensus Fly/Drive?

I doubt you'll be able to beat that journey time on google maps unless you're literally not stopping at all and are very lucky with traffic etc. The journey from Reims to Calais is a piece of piss and very easy on the autoroute but you'd not want to be doing over 100mph for long in case you get caught.

If it was further north in Germany I'd say drive, but I reckon the fly option is more likely to get you to the BBQ!

PS. I think your maths is dodgy, that's saying ~9 hours journey time so if you're leaving at 2pm CET you'll not be in ascot before 10pm.

I believe you are right, my maths is ghey....

It would be a non stopper cruising at ~100ish

I reckon I'll be arriving as the majority will be expiring doh!

Don't suppose you can get a fast train can you? If you can get to Lyon you can probably get to london pretty quick from there?

Sorted, managed to get a flight that basically means I will be travelling directly from the office(checking in online) and straight to Ascot!

just hope theres no traffic on the way to the airport as the margin for error is tiny.... oh well thats what the full damage waiver is for
