Hi all,

not sure how many this actually effects but looks like there is a proposal by Wokingham council to change the parking regulations along Thames Valley Park freeway

Change will be -

1) Ban all waiting 24 hours a day on Eastbound carriageway and R-O-B's
2) Ban waiting on Westbound carriageway between 7.30am and 1030am and between 4.30 and 5.30pm

The above respresents a significant change and IMHO has feck all to do with safety and everything to do with revenue generation

See:

PDF file "A3290, Thames Valley Park and Shepherds House Lane, Early Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting Order 2010"

to be found

HERE

Anyone objecting has until 13th August to object IN WRITING!

According to the map, it is the inbound carriageway (eastbound) which has the peak hour restrictions and the outbound carriageway (westbound) which has the total restrictions.

What is incredible is they have neglected the area between the Regus and SGI/Oracle building (which I know is WBC and not TVP property) - where the real danger lies. The road here is narrowed down to one lane for both directions, with people parking on corners (and even one BMW driver blocking the Regus entrance on frequent occasions).

As an almost daily commuter in to TVP there is currently no problem on the main clearway, the only problem is around the Regus building (I believe caused by lack of space in ING).

Idiots.

New regs now very much in force - bright yellow paint everywhere.

There was a marked police car sitting on the roundabout making sure no-one parked there this morning!
