SAS Karting in Reading - Monday 30th

Right, we have a plan.

I have already chosen a time, location, and event type to keep things simple, as we would never get around to organising it otherwise. It is 2pm this Bank Holiday Monday (30th August) in Reading.

The indoor circuit at Teamworks Reading has a last minute deal available. The offer is £30 for an open grand prix as per the below info from their website. I have never been to the circuit or used teamworks, so I cannot personally recommend it... but at that price it's worth a go.

It has 20 places left available (as some of us have already booked), so if we don't fill the numbers there will be other random entrants joining us as it is an open event.
Could be a load of professional kart racers (including Alex), a bunch of driving test failures , or maybe even a hen night for one of the girls that 'work east'

Everyone will need to log on and pay individually and it is first come gets the places

I don't think so...

Edited because I might be wrong after a quick google search! They get really good reviews for speed, fun, and being evenly matched but the ones in Birmingham seem to have electric motors. It might well be the same in Reading.

Apparently 10HP motors, the most powerful and torquey indoor karts in the country - according to their website


Either way - its only 30 quid for what seems like a decent amount of track time. Robatron has competed in their grand prix format and said it was a fun event. We will let you know Monday night if you can't make it!

Vicki is bringing Rory and Isla, Cas and Averil are coming to watch too. With the numbers we have now, not everyone will be on the track at once either

It's somewhere near Reigate, but can't remember the actual location. I think it was an old hospital that's now been converted to apartments. The pic's courtesy of one of our resident photographers GFWilliams so I have him to thank for making the car looks so good!

Just had a look at the venue, and it seems rather close to Reading Festival.
Does anyone know what time the festival finishes, as we might need to allow a little extra time for the journey
