Also, don't bother with Bracknell to the M3, or the A4.
Tried, gave up and working from home
THIS!Tried, gave up and working from home
It's taken me 90 mins to get to Woking, I don't even have a patient until 12, no b
d phoned me though, sat contemplating handing my notice in, I'm livid. Think the chap killed in the accident is having (had) a worse day....

What's north of Reading/Maidenhead looking like?
NOrth of Reading? That'll be Caversham, Henley, Marlow? Not really a route because the river is there...
I did consider the train, but then we'd have no way of getting to the track. Slough is gridlocked, according to the staff member I just spoke to. I don't mind walking, but not with a 7 year old.Panic over now, anyway. There's no point in us spending the last day of the school hols sitting in the car, so I've called Absolute Karting and we're going to go on Saturday instead. Now I just have to handle the resulting strop from the young man.

They said on the traffic news on Radio 2 this morning that the M4 was shut from J6 to J5 for accident investigation work!
To be fair, they might also have a lot of milk to clear up, from what little I know...As an aside - that place in Slough is the only one in the area that does karting for under-8s.

ETA: Apparently the accident happened before 3 am this morning. That must be one hell of a lot of milk. RIP to the driver killed.

Does Woodley not do kids Karting? The one in Slough is quite a good track and the karts are reasonable
Yes, but only from the age of 8 and a height of 1.38m - I called them this morning. Our son is 7 and nowhere near that tall anyway. It took me months to find the Slough one in the first place, because most places have a lower age limit of 8 or 10.Life with a small petrolhead can be hard work at times.
