Farnborough Card Fraud
Discussion
Had a call from my bank today.
It appears someone has been spending my money for the past couple of weeks.
The last transaction before it started to happen was at a local petrol station. Speaking to people who live locally, they've actually suggested the possible source before I've even mentioned it. It would appear it's not the first time its happened there.
Anyway, the last transaction before the fraud commenced was at the Total Garage in Cove. They may well have nothing to do with it though.

The cash thing is tempting but when its around £80 a pop for the car its a pain in the arse.
I get around 18mpg , tell me about it. Scumbags took £800 out of my account. Got it back but learnt my lesson. What made it worse that the police could not do anything about itSeems like that petrol station are up to their old tricks again!!!!
We use that petrol station through work, only ever use credit cards as if they do jump on the scam wagon it's not our money that they are taking!
It was in the papers about 3 years back IIRC!?!
I think they had a camera watching peoples pin numbers, so make sure if you do go in there, cover your pin VERY well!!

I don't think it's cameras for the chip and pin machines - they normally have a tiny key logger in-line on the lead to the computer which logs all the buttons pressed and card details and stores them ready for downloading later. It was on telly a little whilst back - very cheap and simple to do with potentially large rewards. We use that petrol station through work, only ever use credit cards as if they do jump on the scam wagon it's not our money that they are taking!

Not on the same scale but another thing to watch for, as it happened twice in the Chobham one. They try to over charge you. Haven't had it when i put in a set amount, ie: rounded up, but when i put in a random amount they tried adding £5 on. The first time i didn't realise until too late but the next time i made a point of remembering how much i put in and they tried it on, with an apology when the mistake was pointed out. Mistake my arse !
