Anniversary tomorrow night - wondering if anyone has a recommendation of a restaurant in the B'stoke area?

Tried to get in to the Wellington Arms in Baughurst, but they are fully booked.

Thanks smile

Ooh that's a hard one.. said the actress to the bishop.
I can't really think of anything nice about Basingstoke except maybe the view in the rear view mirror although I did once go to Bartons Mill Restaurant which wasn't too bad.
Was some time ago now so not sure what it's like these days.

I did say 'area' - trying not to narrow it down to the town centre!

Backup choice at the moment is the Hinds Head in Aldermaston...

Funnily enough, there's a Wellington Arms at Stratfield Turgis, just north of Basingstoke on the A33, which is very nice indeed. The wife took me there the other year for my birthday.

I loved the Wellington, lived within stumbling distance of Neil and Jason.

MPW's Yew Tree Inn is fairly close. Then the restraunt at the Madjeski Stadium, and L'Ortalan are just down the A33 as well....

The Swan Inn in Pangbourne, great steaks, open fire places inside if it's cold, and outside overlooks a nice river.

Another vote for L'Ortolan. Quick trip from Basey and the best service of any restaurant anywhere.

Highly recommend the rising sun in Dummer - recently refurbished and now run by the head chef from Highclere - michelin style food without the prices - very very good!
