A trip out for the parents?

Hey all,

So, my brother and i are trying to work out what to sort out for our parents for Christmas. They're at the point in their life where they don't need anything ,and if they do they buy it themselves. So, gifts in recent years have been about them accummulating memories, rather than household appliances that will never get used!

They're in the Newbury area, so the Watermill, Corn Exchange and local restaurants / pubs etc have been experienced and continue to be on occasion.

So, please suggest a day / evening out for my parents, to be done sometime next year. Budget is ~£120 in total, discluding travelling to get there, and i suppose anything in a ~30 mile radius of Newbury would be good.

some things they've done in the past:

RAT on Watercress line
Santa Pod Euro Drag Championships
Watermill
Corn Exchange
Hot air balloon ride
Llama trekking

I am getting mine a day out in a classic car, either a Morgan or a Frog Eyed Sprite.
They always wanted a Morgan and had a paid a deposit on one years ago, I kinda spoiled their plans so thought I would try and make amends!

Day out in the Lake District and a posh lunch should be most appreciated.

Combine the two: Household appliance memory

Throw the remaining 80 odd quid at the nearest Christmas party and bag yourself a grotto to celebrate.

Well, dad has a Dax Cobra kit car (Jag 5.3 v12 HE) so they're pretty well sorted on the petrolhead front. Although it's been a bit of a garage queen lately (another story ).

Night out in London at a West End show with you chauffeuring them there and back; combined with buying them dinner somewhere interesting? Done that for my parents a couple of times as an Xmas present and they loved it - even though my Dad insists he doesn't like musicals he absolutely loved Mama Mia and Oliver. He's also not keen on Chinese but I took them to my favourite restaurant in China Town which he's now been back to several times at his insistence!

We all went to see Mary Poppins a few years ago actually, and they really enjoyed that! Perhaps they'd enjoy it more without me and my brothers in tow
