Here's a question: how would someone without a car get from London to Kingston?

I don't think the trains are running.

Expensive taxi?

I would offer to come and get you and do a Christmas day hoon/round trip, but I will be getting festively merry with my folks.

Could you not borrow a car (family member/friend etc) and get insured for the day?

Thanks but it's not for me. It's for someone else and I might not be "in a capacity to drive" when the pick up is required given that it's Christmas Day and all. hehe

I think I'll have to ask them to be available earlier in the day if they need a lift!

Ah I see. Well, you could always phone Scooterman and see whether they are running on Christmas Day. Could still be expensive, but the times I've used them, they've been cheaper than paying for a taxi there and back.

Otherwise, may I suggest a Hotel for said person?

Thanks. They're getting up earlier whether they like it or not. hehe

I can't detail it here as it might be seen as advertising but there's a new website you could use, list your trip and get someone to drive you.
