The straw has finally broken the camels back, and I'm about to dump BT for my Broadband and TV.

Broadband is easy .... the answer is BE smile

However, on the TV front, I'm thinking of going down the FreeSat route (using my old Sky dish) - not FreeView.

Does anyone have a FreeSat box I could borrow for an hour, so that I can test it to make sure it all still works.

I'll be happy to come collect and drop off again .... or if anyone is coming to Charlies tomorrow for the PH RR session - then I can collect from there (as I'm only around the corner).

Any help gratefully received.

Can I ask what went wrong with BT as I was thinking of going with BT for phone and broadband for our new place.

Kinky,

I have a old sky sat box in a spare room that works ok,... It's about 12 months old. Only replaced with a sky+ box.

The only snag is that I am not around until the 2nd Jan.

Steve

Can't remember where Charlie is based now as I could drop off before I go and see my in laws
Will be travelling via the lightwater bypass, towards the m25 around 9am

Stevie - that would be cool - but don't fret too much. I can go around to one of my neighbours and demand that he gives me his sky box for an hour or 2 (it's a long story).

I'll pop up to Charlies anyway to have a nose and say hello.

Mr. Shark - I'll send you an email with regards to BT smile

Thanks all.

Had loads of problems with bt and their customer service, or lack of it. We're being over charged all the time and took almost a year to redolve! We then secretly got tied into another years contract, never received anything from them about it, but they claim all their customers were informed.

Yes - a very common complaint apparantly.

All you need to do is ask them for proof of your agreement to the contract; or proof that you've received the email to start with wink

I know I'm going to have all this to come at some point very very soon; but quite happy to fight it all the way; as I'm out of contract on both my broadband and vision contracts.

No - not got one. In fact, just about to pop into Camberley, so I could collect on the way in, or back, as I'll be passing through smile

Guys,

I really recomend Utility Warehouse.

We put everything through them (gas, Elsectric, Phone, Boradband, TV) really really helpul. Uk call centre, answers very quickly and we have this club card thing where we load it at the begining of the month for our shopping and we then get 5% off all our bills end of the month depending how much you have spent in Sainsburys... e.g if you spend 500 Quid one month you 25 quid off!!(can use fuel as well> :-) )

I think you'll find that speedtest.net multiplies everything by 10, so it doesn't count, sorry.
