As per title really, I want to get my RB5 looking factory fresh and I can get new decals from the RB5OC, but having had paintwork done on other cars in the past it turns out that perhaps I am too fussy ot too much of a perfectionist, but then if I am paying good money that i have worked hard to earn for a car to look new then that is what i expect.

I dont want to collect the car and it be full of dust from the bodyshop or its done 100 miles somehow
I dont want hologramming in the paint where someone has fked up with the MOP
I dont want pinpricks, dust under or in the paint or orange peel
I want the correct standard colour
I would like a reasonable price although i know it will never be that cheap.

Obviously I will take my car to anyone within reason as long as they are good enough to be able to meet my criterea but I would rather stay as local as possible to South Bucks.

Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.

I am assuming that is Ferrari or Lamborghini? Sounds more expensive than the car is worth.

Quality costs. They will paint anything properly if you can afford it...

Good luck your going to need it!!!

The times I've been unfortunate enough to have vehicles go into insurance approved bodyshops I have had to send them back, first car was sent back 7 times for various thing like lump in paint, so they sanded area back which made area stick out, so they re polished which still didn't hide it, then they resprayed but in slightly different colour, etc etc this was a main dealer bodyshop!!! rolleyes

Different bodyshop

Overspray on lights, Bad masking around light, sent back then more bad masking just even bigger around lights, then lumps in paint, then full respray of rear doors which left runs in edges
Etc etc

My experience of bodyshops is they will do the minimum they think they can get away with as most ppl won't complain, or they can fob off with their bullst of all new cars have flaws in their paint!!

try http://www.cartechnicksltd.co.uk in Hook (Hants).

They resprayed my wife's X5 bonnet when a huge stone gauged it to bits, and made a great job of it. Not as complete as a full respray, but their colour match was good in all lights. Half what BMW wanted and I was very happy with finish (and I'm a picky bugger). They had TVRs, a Ferrari, Range Rovers there too and I would feel happy to take my Ferrari there if it needed any paintwork if that also helps.

The horror story above is the reason I would like somewhere that takes pride in their work and comes with recommendations.

Hants is possibly a bit far for my liking but thanks anyway. I am near Beaconsfield.

agreed - but 45 miles to an independent, owner-managed bodyshop, 45 miles from you is pretty good if you ask me ;-) I'd take my P&J there for sure. best of luck!

Just had some work done by Specialised Paintwork in Theale and it wasn't cheap but the finish is absolutely perfect and I don't say that lightly being such a perfectionist.

Had some work done by a popular and well known company in Wokingham on my last car and they were so pathetic it was laughable. Avoid them at all costs, it took me 3 times to get them to sort the bodge job they did and even then it was still crap. Contact me if you want details!

Its been a long time since I have seen a car be painted and have no defects in the paint. I sent a alfa 8c back to italia as it had so meny pigtails in the paint from colour sanding. This goes for lambo and ferrari too (ok ferrari in a couple of cases) Aston loves its d.a. sanding marks and bmw and porsche need to send there entire workforce to show how to compound polish and refine. I have to say though one place that is exceptional is xquisite automotive. When they finish the painting stage they will colour sand, compound and refine to a pretty high level. But unfortunatly I can not vouch for anyone else as every car I see come out a painters is not what I would call perfect.

Kind regards

Mike
