Drove down Foresters Way back from Bracknell at lunchtime, saw a bit of smoke off to the side of the road... been plenty more smoke all afternoon and a fire sirens... might be best avoided in case the road is closed... no idea if this is the case, just a heads up in case anyone has a choice of routes..

Yep, lots of road closures from Ascot / Bracknell way over to crowthorne, I also heard there was a fire at the other end of nine mile ride earlier however I reckon the BBC just got that wrong.

Smoke is starting to get a little annoying now.

This is about the only news I can find:

took a walk from Sandhurst towards Broadmoor... fire was beyond (North East I think of Broadmoor) looks like Foresters Way is now open again, so I am guessing fire is under control now.

The Blackbushe airport fire engine was putting out a small fire in the woods off the main road just near the airport entrance at about lunchtime. Wonder if someone's been chucking matches about ?

A3095 Crowthorne Road / Foresters Way Hanworth, both ways between Hanworth Road and Owlsmoor Road
A3095 Berkshire - A3095 Crowthorne Road / Foresters Way in Hanworth closed in both directions between the Hanworth Road junction and the Owlsmoor Road junction, because of a serious fire at Swinley Forest.

Latest info on road closures from http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/berkshire/

FB appear to have it under control. The roads were still closed 10 minutes ago, chopper still up the air. Friends in the next road along were on alert to evacuate for a while.

It all seems to be quite manic still. Several fires all seem to be converging on poor old Crowthorne. And stocking up on (internal) supplies of Fleurie just in case. The house still smells of smoke, and my lovely, but dopey neighbour has lit his log burner. No, I don't understand why either!

It was already on the same side of the road as the look out, that's where it started as technically that is Swinley forest not the bits closer to Crowthorne (from my understanding anyway).

I just popped to Crowthorne this morning - road from Coral Reef roundabout closed, as was the road that goes passed Harmans Water area - I had to loop round towards Wokingham, via Peacock Farm. Strong smell of smoke and more fire engines were arriving.

Anyone know what the traffic is like heading along the A329m towards Bracknell up to Wokingham or Jennetts park, I don't fancy sitting in traffic for hours to get home...

just travelled home to Owlsmoor from the M3 J4.
At Rackstraws, there is a sign saying "Road Ahead Closed" but I really cannot see why, and people were just driving through a gap in the cones.
Everyone was being divereted off towards Sandhurst ( as opposed to College Town) and Crowthorne... but heavy going, but not the end of the world.

Fire appears to be still very much raging.
