Hi, I am relatively new to the ginetta scene and i am after some advice. I have a Series 4 G27, it is my first kit car build and is going very well so far. However, I hung the doors a few weeks ago and now i am stuck, Anybody got any ideas on how to hook the door locks upto the latchs? or even better a complete lock and latch setup for sale?
Pictures or any other info would be most appreciated!

I am also after some seats, I have tried GKD sportscars but unfortunately its £450 for vinyl, which is a bit OTT and unfortunately GKD will not supply just the seat tubs. I have also tried Spadge hopkins at cottage classics who said he could do me some for £40 a seat but has not yet got back to me. Any other suggestions?

Cheers!

Daniel,

I've got Intatrim Saturn seats in my G27 S4. Just the right width for the narrow cockpit and very comfortable. Available online from Europa at £120 each in vinyl. www.europaspares.com

Cant help on the door locks but believe they are something like Austin Montego boot locks and quite rare. If you get the locks I can help with photos for the set up.

Cheers, Tony

Have a look at the classified advert www.pistonheads.com/sales/157398.htm

G27 door lock setup, locks, keys barrels linkage, latches £40

James the guy selling the bits bought a G27 unfinished kit a while ago to build up. He gave up building it and has sold off the chassis and body and some other bits and pieces.

Hi, Thanks for the help guys, I have a matching pair (same key) of montego locks and some ford latches that i think are the correct ones for the g27 but not 100% sure, If you could get me a picture Tony that would really help me out a lot! I think i may have to fork out for the Inatrim Saturn seats, very nice looking and at a resonable price.
And thanks g27 for the info but i have already contacted James and unfortunately the lock setup has already gone.
Cheers
Dan

If you don't have the Montego lock linkage which the Montego locks fit into have a word with Peter Lathrope at www.gkdsportscars.com/ . He had some made up a while ago. If he hasn't got any and you can't find a Montego saloon with the correct early type of boot lock then find an Austin Maestro. These had a similar boot lock linkage but have to be modified to take the Montego lock.

Thanks G27 i will try Peter Lathrope, Hopefully he will be able to sort me out with the linkage, I managed to get one off a maestro the otherday and thanks to Tony sending me some photos i think i should have it sorted in a few weeks. The door alignment looks like its gonna be very tricky to get right...
Cheers

Just managed to get some proper ginetta seat tubs and a few other bits and pieces from Spadge Hopkins (www.cottageclassics.co.uk) at a bargain price! Very nice bloke, even delivered them to my door on sunday!
The only thing really holding me back now is the door locks and linkage, I have the two locks and thanks to Tonys help i have the right latch the only bits i am missing now is the linkage that fits to the bottom of the lock, Its quite hard to explain the part that i need but its the part that fits into the cutout on the bottom of the lock so that when you push the lock in to open the door it pivots and pulls the latch up releasing the door.
Any ideas of where i can find a pair of montegos? Pretty rare nowadays I have spoke to many a scrapyard in my area and had no luck.
Cheers!
