The fronts on my Mondeo are getting a bit thin. They are the Original Conti. Sports, which I have to say are very good. However, they are not exactly supple. To be honest the ride quality is a bit poor expecially with the "marvelous" conditions of our roads.

Anyone tried alternatives to the Conti's ?

Have PZeros on mine, good grip but not much better in terms of ride (although I have the 'sports' suspension which probably doesn't help) but wearing a little better. The Continentals seemed to wear out in no time. Pirellis a bit cheaper too and no one can match my local Ford stealers price which must be a first. Prices of this size tyre at some of the 'chains' is eye watering....

Thanks for the info. Mine has the sport suspension too, so I am not expecting a massive improvement, but it seems to have detoriorated a bit as the tyres have worn.

Paid about £160 a corner. Many places had prices £200+ for the Conti's. I won't be buying a fat wheeled Mondeo again!

I am currently on bridgestones at the moment seem to have done the job so far but may try michelins next as think they felt slightly softer when changed from bridgstone to them on last car

225/40/18 is the correct size for a 18 inch Mondeo wheel. I have Hankook S1 EVo's on the front and they are excellent, less than £100 per tyre, quiet yet grippy in all conditions.
