Focus ST Oil Pressure Problem
Discussion
Driving this morning, i noticed the oil pressure gauge was showing a lot lower than normal at idle speed once up to temperature (just over 1/4, rather than about 3/4). The needle was rising and falling quickly in line with the engine speed.
At the same time, the turbo doesnt appear to be running smoothly - just from looking at the gauge, it appears to 'stick' on 1/4, until higher engine speeds, and then suddenly jump to getting on for 3/4.
Has anyone else got any experience / suggestions of what this might be, or whether I'm just being paranoid?!

I would check out focusstoc.com for loads of good info. Your problem must have covered may times on there.
I would check oil level for start and if that's ok disconnecting the battery or removing the KAM fuse (no 26 i think but maybe wrong!) will clear the ecu memory. This may help as i believe the values of the boost, oil temp and pressure are calculated from engine speed, throttle position and temp etc and not taken off a dedicated sensor so to speak.
If that don't help cleaning the maf sensor is a common issue as can cause all sorts of problems that often appear unrelated.
Boost problems are another popular one and could well down to a knackered boost solenoid. Relatively cheap fix ~£50 from Ford.
Hope this helps.
