Jesus what a bd of a job! I got the switch & a deep socket...only my socket was too deep and would not go under the battery tray. I cut the fking thing down but got through 10 hacksaw blades in the process! I guess this is what happens when you stick a 6 speed trans into a car that was originally designed for a 5 speed. The position of the battery tray in relation to the switch was one that induced many swear words! I "popped" out to do this job at 8pm last night & finished at 10pm. Nest time I'll pay a dealer. At least it now works smile ttting thing.

Strange thing to have fail, well done for fixing it though.

TBH it was dodgy from day 1, probably German made smile (the brake light switch also failed but was done under warranty which this would have been if I had the time!)

Did you remove the battery and tray?

Battery yes, tray, no! It is bolted in prior to painting by the looks of it, not to mention the loom that is cable tied to it in a million places.

Bit late now but your right, it is bolted in place before painting but the bolts come undone fine and just need a touch up stick on re-fitting, the fuse box is easily moved out the way, found this out why i tried to fit a 2nd air feed.

Prefer my method tbh, no sign of work that way wink I worked out the feed would never fit when doing this too! The position of the wiring look makes it impossible too (if you look at the plastic part of the second feed there is a cut out for the wiring that does not line up on the 6 speed).
