Ford Focus problem - Rattle sound

This is going to sound really vague, and most likely impossible to explain, but I'll try!

I've got a 1.8TDDi Focus, 2001 reg. At around 2k revs, I get a strange rattling sound, its been there for a while (a year plus), I've never had the money to get it sorted, so kinda just hoped it would go away, not get any worse. It appears to have got worse.

Only time it doesn't make the sound it below 2k revs, doesn't matter what gear I'm in either.

I'm a bit worried that it could be the turbo, as I've just noticed thats when it starts up.

If it helps I can get a video clip and hope it records the sound. If anyone can give me any ideas on what it is, that would be great!

Going to take it down to the garage on Friday when I get paid, and hope its nothing expensive!

Could be the Cat breaking up......

That rattle tends to be more pronounced at idle though - like stones in a tin can.

I had that in my Punto, doesn't sound similar. Its more of a low rumble thinking about it.
