I have a mint 2006 Focus ST2 with low miles, bluefin and eibachs. Bored as I have had it a year (long time for me with fast cars) so fancy a change.
Had it up for sale at a competitive price - not sold yet, had some fairly serious enquiries and plenty of swap offers, as I think most performance cars just aren't selling.
So one of the offers is a mk1 Focus RS, 330+BHP with the right mods, seems a fairly genuine car, 65k+ miles.
I use my car a fair bit for commuting up and down m/way, say 12k miles a year, and also drive a fair few country roads. Ideally I want a nice cross between cruising comfort and hoonability....
So the RS is older, but rarer, quicker but maybe more to maintain/run, less comfy and less specced, but iconic.
Any comments? What are they like to live with??

Absolutely love mine

With 330bhp that's gonna be much quicker than the focus ST

Servicing isn't too bad, parts are fairly expensive but probably not much more than for the focus ST

Not too uncomfortable tbh, I do an hour journey most weekends with no problem of being uncomfortable, I get 26-28mpg out of mine, running about 250bhp, don't forget it requires 97+ at all times

£70 will do about 300miles

Can't think of anything else to put right now

The drawbacks of running one are probably all the problems you have just now anyway, fuel costs, tax cost etc.

If anything they are more raw and more focused (sorry I had to!) on the driving experience. Everything else comes second, or third, or in the event of a water temp gauge or cup holder, not at all!
