Hi,
So the girlfriends Puma has finally started to play up, 1 month before it gets traded in for her new car!!! Typical.
On starting the car the ABS and TC light stay on and dont go out. Also the heater seems to blow hot air constantly. I have read a few things about ABS sensors and the the alternator but obviously dont want to just start throwing money at the car 1 month before it goes. Has anyone ever had this problem or got any ideas?

Thanks

Sensor, common problem i`m afraid. More than likely be one of the fronts, if you can find someone with the right diagnostic machine you will be able to pin point the right one. I got mine off E-Bay, £28, for that money i changed both sides.
Jack up the car, take off the wheel, remove the inner dirt shield/arch disconnect the multiplug above the suspension strut, undo the 8mm bolt securing the sensor to the hub, try and remove the old sensor, it will probabilly fall apart when you remove it and you might have to drill it out, it is only plastic so no real sweat, clean up the housing, before replacing so it slides in smoothly, plug in the multiplug, refit arch, and wheel, then road test, the light will only go out after the car has done it self testing check. Any problems give me a shout.

Edited to add, disconnect battery of course smile

And hot air? Heater control valve IMO, another easy job.

ABS sensor and the Heater Control Valve by the sounds of things - there is some decent info on testing and replacing the ABS sensor(s) on here, the HCV is pretty easy to change too.

I've done both jobs on one of our Pumas recently but I either got a crap eBay sensor that broke straight away or another one of them has gone.
