1300 x flow engine and gearbox

I have a 1300 x flow engine in my Jago Geep and the gear stick is like stirring porridge!

I've driven a few older cars in my time, and was wondering if it should have a return spring fitted to centralise the gear knob...?

Any help would be much appreciated!

I'm fairly sure they have a centring spring. The vagueness/stiffness is probably down to the bushes wearing and breaking down. Take the gaiter and gear stick off and have a look, see what is needed.

Nice one, will remove it when I get a spare half hour and investigate!

Where do most of you chaps buy your spares from?

Your have to excuse my ignorance, been this is the first time I've had something ford based!!

dont waste your time in reparing something on the original stick: invest in a quickshift stick..cheapest one you get is at rallydesign...around 37pound
