Hello
Got a 2008 ford focus. Got the ESP Amber caution on the dash board as though it is switched on. Can't turn it off with the stalk. Book says this means an ESP malfunction. Has anyone had this? Is it ok to drive with or an expensive fix? Sending my wife and kid off in it this weekend does anyone know if it is ok to drive with for a while till I get chance to sort it?

Thanks for your help

On the Mondeo if the brake lights stick on this will happen, worth checking. Also, could just be an ABS sensor fault.

Not too sure on this model, but the MK1 Focus would bring on the Traction Control light if one of the sensors on the wheel hubs was duff, it killed the ABS also.

Its a common problem but get it hooked upto a diagnostic tester all the same. The light is usualy put on by the brake pressure sensor circuit malfunction and its nearly always cured with a HCU. The being just the ABS pump and valve block and not the more expensive control module.
