My son has a 2007 Focus 2 litre diesel 76K miles. The particulate filter needs changing as blocked up computor has been reset to get it out of limp mode.
Ford want IRO £1K to fix it. Does anyone know if it can be cleaned out. I have a diesel 407 and the Peugeot main dealer told me that rarely a problem under 130K miles and then they clean them out.Apparently can be taken off and reverse flow pressure washed.
Can this be done on the Ford?

The cars DPF must have been regenerated before the ecu was reset because it would`ve gone straight back to limp mode if it was totally blocked.

Wont be able to clean out the focus one due to it's design but they are available after Market for a lot less euro car parts are one that does them the reason the Peugeot ones last longer is because they have an additive system that cleans the filters out ford say the filter should be replaced on the 72.5 k service
