type 9 gearbox leak

Hi there, was wondering if someone can help me.

Just mated my type 9 gearbox to the upgraded x flow and noticed that gearbox oil leaked in the bellhousing. Is this because I put the engine and gearbox on its side to thighten the lower bolts? The oil seems to be leaking from the top of the bellhousing. Not a lot came out but gearbox was nearly empty.

Do I have a problem? Thanks

i had a similar problem with my type 9 to pinto..... i forgot to put the bellhousing gasket inbetween the box and bellhousing ..... it looks like a nothing gasket but once fitted made all the difference. got mine from local motorfactors
