I have a few minor issues with my 51 plate Facelift 2.0 Zetec.

First is knocking noise from front and rear when going over bumps. Front is anti-roll bar link arms, replaced several of these on my old Focus, but the rear I've never had problems with. Do they have ARB links on the rear, sounds like the same noise, if so are they as easy to change?

Second issue is the cooling fan is running all the time, it starts within seconds of the engine idling regardless of coolant temperature. A connection by the fan has been damaged by the exhaust heat shield, most likely cause? How do I repair this?

Also the wipers don't self park properly and when you use manual wipe, they stop when you release the stalk and don't return. Is there a control module for the wipers or is it all integrated in the motor. Repairable or replacement required?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Yes they have Arb links on the rear that have a habit of snapping but are easy & cheap to replace.

The cooling fan will run all the time if the heater is set to demist as it turns the air con on so check this first.

The wipers will be the relay if you open the glovebox to reveal the fuse box you will see a pair of either grey or white relays on the left when the wipers parking one will be clicking replace that one & it should solve the fault.

Great help thanks.

But the issue with the fan happens with AC turned off, any ideas?

Is the blower set to demist? If so then it will turn the ac on regardless of the button

You would have thought that Ford would have arranged things so that the a/c light came on when the heater/demister setting was turned fully clockwise but it seems to have been beyond them. Once you know it's fine but finding out can be a PITA grumpy

Are you sure about that, I can hear the compressor kick in when I switch the AC on and off in demist.

I shall check in the morning though, thanks.

theres a engine bay temp sensor between the air box box and battery.....

check that as it can also cause the fans to come on
