Focus heated rear screen (05 newer shape)

The heated rear window on our Focus has never worked, but apparently is getting electrical current to it.

I've been given some nonsense about it not being very powerful or being slow to get going, but in my book it does not work.

Anyone else had this problem?

Every other car I have had has given results within a few seconds of switching the HRW on.

Yes, have the same - no idea why. Again it must be getting some juice as it does eventually clear, but there is a somewhat relaxed attitude to going about business.

Fish brain means I can't remember whether it has always been this bad. However it is a bit irritating when the front screen clears at a rate of knots and the back doesn't.

Now you mention it, mine isn't great! It does take quite a while to de-ice the rear screen with it, compared to other cars I've owned.
