MK2 Mondeo 1.8 Handling Issues (bottom arm related)

Hey fella's, I know Mondeo's aren't meant for their handling, I just meant it in a literal term. Bought a MK2 Mondeo 1.8 just before christmas as a bit of a run around for work really, I am the 3rd owner, it has every receipt saved and has only done 78k (on an X plate), it's been very well looked after and before my garage visit, drove very very well.
My front drivers side coil spring snapped at the beginning of this week so had both fronts replaced at an independent garage. However on changing them, they said I had a bit of play in one of the bushes on my offside wishbone. I had suspected something of the sort with a knocking I was getting when reversing and braking.
I ordered the parts and had them fitted today. After the springs were done Monday, car drove fine as per.. but after having the wishbones done the car drives completely different, in a bad way.
It's a little hard to explain but accelerating it feels as if the car is sliding side to side (Feels like torque steer, but not from 115bhp!!), going round corners (slowly) to gain access to my street and pulling out of junctions it feels as though its under steering and steering feels light. It's almost as if I am driving on ice, which although having bad weather the roads are ice free.
I am going to take it back on Monday for them to check it over as I don't feel like I want to drive the car any more, and on the dual carriage way which I use a lot if feels seriously unsafe, which is a shame as it drove brilliantly the morning when I dropped it off.
They did the tracking etc again as you would expect when removing suspension components but they have left the steering wheel off centre when going in a straight line which is really off putting, and when it went in the first time for the springs, they forgot (how they did this I don't know) to tighten up my top mount.
Can anyone shed any light on what the issue may be? It's hard to go in and express how annoyed I really feel as it's a lad I know rather well that works there and I got considerable discount off the parts.
