I'm going to look at a 2.5 V6 Ghia X at the weekend. It sounds like a pretty clean car, the only niggles the owner said was a fast idle when it is warm, a knock from the rear over potholes which sounds like a subframe bush and the tyres seem to lose air quite quickly due to the aluminium wheels.

Does anyone have any experience of those issues and is there anything else I should pay particular attention to?

It's a manual 52 plate with 150k on the clock, service history and looks well looked after from the photos.

Yes, the clunk could be the rear subframe bushes, or the droplink bushes. I don't think either are massively expensive to replace, and pretty much any local garage can do it. Just make sure all the toys work, and that the engine pulls strongly all through the rev range. Check the rear wheel arches for rust, and that the front wheels have even wear across the surface and no scrubbing on the inside of the tyre.

Leaking alloys is not uncommon. It can be fixed but I don't know how much they charge for that sort of thing.

As already stated rear subframe bushes likely for the clunk at that mileage also make sure the clutch is good as it will be expensive to change, I would be changing the water pump for peace of mind at that miles as well as its not a bad or expensive job to do but if it fails it will be
