Hi,

Considering a 53-56 plate Mondeo 2.0 130 tdci - any advice on things to watch out for would be appreciated!

DMF failure is the main one,Injector and pump problems are the other big things.

Look out for knocking or rattling on start up,the starter sticks too sometimes as parts of the flywheel clog it up.

My 04 plate is on 93k and just had the DMF done at a cost of £860,should be ok for the next 100k now.

DMF went on mine, £1100 main dealer fix
Injectors went too, another £1100
Rear subframe bushes, £400 (Ford glue them in, so you're out of action for a day

Fuel pump is suspect too, can be £800 for replacement

I'd imagine that a car in that price band isn't going to be put into a main dealer every time so those figures are worst case
