My girlfriend was amazed when I got 480 miles out of a tank of derv on her 1.8 TDCI 2006 Focus Sport on the weekend with still an eigth of a tank left. The vast majority of this mileage was done going from South West Wales to North Wales and driving around the North for a couple of days, no motorway and very little dual carriageway. She has only ever got over 400 miles out of a tank once, it's usually between 380 and 400 when the low fuel light comes on.

What range does everyone else get out of their 1.8 TDCi Focuses? Her commutte is 20 miles each way on an A & B roads, so I'd expect a long drive to return better figures but I cant help but think that she should/ could be getting better than that.

I normally get about 520 miles a tank out of my 2000 1.8 TDDI Focus. All rural roads, no motorway/dual carriageways.

I always use Vpower when i fill her up.

Normally gives me between around 440-520. completely varies on my mpg at the time and the air temp and any other variable factor that the ecu calculates at that time. I normally do around 46ish mpg on average between fill ups, and a tank will last me about 3-4 weeks sometimes i dont have to fill up between paydays if i time it right!

Cheers

It's an 11 gallon tank; I get about 44 MPG on average out of mine, which is mainly commuting - half stop-start and half A-roads.

She filled the car the other day and got just under 9 gallons into it with 520 miles on the odometer. 56mpg, quite chuffed with that. Shows the benefit of a long journey.

56 MPG is very decent.

Best I've ever managed is just over 60 MPG over a 70 mile A-Road/M-way journey early one morning. I was driving Miss Daisy to get that though!
