Today whilst driving along there was a loud pop (i thought a tyre had burst) then the car ran but was sluggish and under powered.
I pulled into a layby and switched it off and then after having a look it would not start and just turned over but did not fire.

Has anyone else had something similar happen?

Does anyone know of any online manuals as i want to locate the cam shaft postion sensor and the crank sensor.

Have you put a code reader on it to tell you what is wrong? Wouldnt have thought a camshaft or crankshaft sensor would have gone 'pop' . Usually crankshaft sensor is on the flywheel side of things.
Did you not have breakdown services pick you up, usually they have a reader to try and see whats wrong before you get a lift home.

It brought up a fault with cam shaft postion sensor, crank sensor and a conflict or something with the pistons if i remember right.

There was definately a pop as my first thought was i have blown a tyre but then there was a sudden loss in power.

Bit gutted right now frown

Turns out the pop was a rabbit exploding as it got sucked into the cambelt frown

Its now with my mate neiljohnson (on here) getting looked at.
Thanks to snowolf for the lift home too.

If anyone wants to know, the camshaft postion sensors are under the plastic cylinder head cover near the spark plugs(there are two on the passenger side end of the head).

Luckily the belt only jumped two teeth so i got away with no damage.

I wish i had taken a picture of the rabbit foot stuck in the top pulley but when we took the cover off my heart sank as i thought it was going to be bad.
Have got a blurred photo off a mashed up bunny minus two front feet and both its ears though.

Had to replace the cambelt and it spilt the drive shaft gaiter as well. All fixed and only cost a few hundred,so i am happy.

It was a bit horrific & the smell when it got running again was not good either vomit

The poor bunnys leg got dragged by the aux belt & forced threw the cambelt cover Which jumped the belt bar the smell it was quite a straightforward fix smile

Unbelievable how it managed to get in there !!! That smell maybe there a while............. Mate mashed a bunny in his westfield. Never saw it, but the engine sort of stuttered. Luckily just went round the auxilary belt on his crossflow. Then got a weird smell, so took the bonnet off and hey presto, mashed meat everywhere.............. Luckily the jetwash got rid of Mr Bunny..........
