How to fit new rear discs and pads to Focus 2004
Discussion
I guess you have discs, if so, straight forward. Remove calipers and pads, remove disc and swop. I have never used a piston retractor that has worked ( have two types here) wound mine back with a lock ring tool or long nose pliers for a fiver etc and pads in and bolt caliper back on. Easy job.
Plenty of YouTube videos about brakepad replacement with piston wind back methods. Eric The Car Guy is I think is the most professional: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/search.aspx?sq=brake%...
But winding piston back such that the fluid goes back to the master cyclinder can sometimes result in crap from the slave cylinder fouling master cylinder. Plus the possibility of 'flipping' the slave cyclinder rubbers if done a tad too enthusiastically.
So, perhaps the best way is to crack the bleed screws to allow the fluid to exit the slave cylinder rather than up the pipe to the master cyl.
