Would be grateful is anyone has had a similar problem to this and knows the solution...
Our 2.5T has just developed a fairly abrupt misfire - only when boosting.
No problems at part throttle all the way through the revs.
Fault code is P0234 - overboost.

Local garage can't read all the diagnostic data though, so I'm having to refer to Ford garage - but if anyone knows what it is in advance that would be very handy!

No idea on the code, but the boost solenoid is a common failure. Usually to not give enough boost, but guess it may do the opposite too. Quite cheap to replace , but a bit of a fiddle behind the drivers side wheel, behind the inner wheel arch on an ST so similar on yours.

Didnt even put the whole code in on google, so obviously a common one. Interesting to see what it is......

Ford dealer reckons a boost control solenoid.
34+VAT for diagnosis.
quoting 155+VAT fitted which I don't think is too bad.

Crikey thats a lot, but does that include their diagnosis. Its a job you can do at home, but you need to get to it, like I said from behind the wheelarch and is a 10 min swop over.
