Draining Ib5 gearbox

Will be changing the oil on my 2000 escort gearbox, there doesn't appear to be a drain plug. What is the best way to empty the gearbox?

Assuming the escort IB5 is the same as the IB5 on the focus, there is a bolt underneath the fill plug. It's not meant to be for draining, but it works. Alternatively, you can pull one of the axles, but it's easier said than done, and very messy.

thanks, the driveshafts are bad enough when there is 2 of you using a 2 post ramp. didn't fancy taking on out on my drive
