Ford Focus 2.0L Engine Noise

Hey all,

I'm a new poster here! Just listed my car in the 'Readers Car' section - go and have a look if you like ! (Although its nothing special...)

Anyway, i'm after a bit more 'grunt' noise from my engine. I'm plenty happy enough with the power and everything else, it just sounds a bit soft (if thats the right word)

Don't get me wrong - i don't want to wake the whole town up whilst accelerating! Just want a bit more noise / presence.

Anyway, will a K&N (or similar) replacement air filter (straight swap part: E-2993) do the job? I don't want to be modding it etc and paying +20% on my insurance..

Any other ideas?

Adding a K&N will definitely give it a nice induction roar, it won't be intrusive or OTT from the outside either.

From just a drop in filter? I've read reviews saying they do and they don't make a difference!

I'm unsure.

Anyone else got any input?

I take it its. 2l petrol? duratec engine

If so itll be moat likely be that same i4 duratec in the fiesta st, inwhich it loved the k&n57i when i put it on!

Awesome thanks. I was debating that in the future, but for now just debating putting in a k&n drop in air filter.

I don't want to do it if it does nothing though.. so many different reviews!
