fiesta mk6 1.3 duratec tps reading high, help needed

my tps reading is showing 25% at idle, this seems high to me, ive checked cable and flap is fully closed?? car sometimes hunts at idle and smells of petrol when started from cold, any ideas?

If the TPS is reading out and the flap is closed, it might be damaged and need replacing. There maybe a way to reset it, but I dont know myself. The Lotus way was to turn the ignition on, throttle up and down, ignition off and then start, but is probably linked to diagnostic ports resets on a Ford.

i replaced the tps for a brand new genuine tps and the reading is now 27% instead of 25%, wtf?

There must be a reset function somewhere on the ecu system. Sounds like there was nothing wrong with the old one. 2% is nothing it you consider it only goes to less than 90 deg from closed to open.Just where you have fitted it. Try under engines section, someone might help you there .
