My Dads Ford Escort
Discussion
Hi All,
Just looking for some advice on what to do with my Dads 1997 Ford Escort 1.6 Ghia MkVI in Panther Black with only 60k?
Its in really good condition and the interior is like new, it even smells like new. It also has service history etc with main dealer.
He was going to part exchange but the guy at the dealership said it would be a shame for such a good example to be scrapped. Besides they would have offered next to nothing anyway.
So now the new car has arrived, all eyes are on me regarding the Escorts future!
Any advice will be very much appreciated.

I was thinking about these yesterday and how you don't really see them on the road anymore. Up to about 5 years ago, they were everywhere.
I had a 1995 MK6 for my first car and actually liked it. Sure it was underpowered (only a 1.4 8v) and the understeer was terrible but it was my first car and I loved it.
If I was looking for a cheap runaround I'd be very interested in taking it off your hands and even though I'm not, I'm still slightly tempted but I just don't have anywhere to put it.
It's shame for you to have to get rid of it, as no matter where you sell it, you're not going to get much for it.

Advertize it on Passionford, at least it will then stand a chance of being loved again.
Not worth paying the £10 membership fee for all he would get for the car.Unfortunately nobody seems to want them anymore.I would love a last of the run RS2000 though, starting to get rare these days too mainly due to rust
