Problem with 05 Ford Focus 2.0 TDCI
Discussion
Dear all,
I wonder if one of you tech guys could advise me on a problem that occurred this evening on my 05 Ford Focus 2.0 TDCI.
I started the car as normal and proceeded to the end of my drive way(Approx 100 yards to the main road) and all seemed fine. On pulling out into the main road the revs would not go above 1100rpm causing me to pull out very slowly and stop on the hazards. Turned the engine on and off 3 or 4 times and still could not get above 1100 rpm, when holding the pedal down it crept up to 2000 rpm and then revved as normal above 2000 rpm. After about 10 mins it returned to the full rev range enabling me to get it home again???????
When i brought the car 3 years ago on a few occaisions when starting it, it ran really rough and seemed to go into limp mode, it has not done it since. Not sure if that is connected with the problem i had tonight?.
Many thanks to anyone who can shed some light on the above :-)
Best regards
Neil
